LUCKNOW Two lakh people in 601 villages of 23 districts in Uttar Pradesh had been affected by floods, based on the info launched by the state authorities.

Reduction commissioner (UP) GS Naveen Kumar on Wednesday mentioned all of the embankments in the state had been secure and district magistrates of flood-affected districts had been directed to conduct survey of inundation of agriculture land, destruction of crops attributable to flood and submit a report back to the state authorities.

The flood affected districts included Amroha (45 villages), Azamgarh (8), Ballia (1), Barabanki (4), Basti (6), Bijnore (30), Budaun (27), Farrukhabad (115), Fatehpur (4), Gonda (23), Gorakhpur (4), Hardoi (55), Kannauj (9), Kanpur (3), Kasganj (57), Lakhimpur Kheri (26), Kushinagar (1), Mau (3), Meerut (40), Muzaffarnagar (40), Shahjhanpur (14), Sitapur (6) and Unnao (80 villages).

The state authorities arrange 1,101 flood shelters and 1,504 flood outposts in the flood-affected districts whereas 2,135 medical groups had been despatched to flood-hit villages. A complete of 2838 boats had been pressed into service to hold out rescue operations and 14 rescue groups of NDRF, SDRF and PAC had been deployed in flood-affected districts for rescue and aid work.

The state income division organized ‘rahat chaupal’ at 5,014 locations in flood-prone districts.

In line with the irrigation division, river Ramganga was flowing above hazard degree in Shahjahanpur and Ghaghra was above the hazard degree in Ballia.

The aid commissioner mentioned UP acquired a median rainfall of 1.4 mm in the final 24 hours, which was 29% of the conventional rainfall of 4.8 mm. The state acquired a median 495.9 mm rainfall since June 1, which was 84% of the conventional rainfall of 588.1 mm. Within the final 24 hours, no district acquired 30 mm or extra rainfall, he mentioned.

Greater than extra rainfall was recorded in 12 districts, regular rainfall in 24 districts, poor rainfall in 22 districts, extraordinarily poor rainfall in 11 districts and 6 districts recorded lower than 40% rainfall for the reason that begin of the monsoon season.
