A 72-year-old man was arrested after he poured petrol on a pair and set them on fire late on Tuesday evening in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, police mentioned.
The couple died of burn accidents on the hospital whereas a lady who had tried to douse the fire is present process remedy, police added.
Throughout questioning, the man confessed to the crime and mentioned he had been allegedly storing the petrol for a number of months.
The accused was dwelling with the couple because the Covid pandemic in 2020 in Badlipurwa and was a relative of the deceased man.
