LUCKNOW Former UP minister Shankhlal Majhi’s wife was allegedly robbed of her jewellery by two assailants whereas she was providing prayers at a temple close to her residence at Gomti Nagar extension on Thursday afternoon, stated police.
A masked man entered the temple and threatened her whereas one other man got here from behind and looted her jewellery at knifepoint, after which the duo fled, stated Anjani Devi, the sufferer.
SK Awasthi, SHO, Gomti Nagar Extension stated investigation was underway after an FIR was registered in opposition to the duo underneath Part 390 of the IPC.
“The CCTV footage of the spot was scrutinised. A younger man, and not using a masks, was purportedly discovered strolling close to the intersection near the temple. His look matched with a person described by Anjani Devi. The police are trying to find the robbers,” he added.
“I left the home round 12 midday and went to the temple. Once I began providing prayers, a masked man got here and threatened me. One other masked man got here from behind and looted my mangal sutra, ring and earrings at knifepoint. He additionally threatened to slit my throat if I shouted for assist,” stated Anjani Devi.
