The Greater Noida police arrested on Tuesday the driver of alleged gangster and scrap vendor Ravi Nagar alias Ravi Kana below fees of the Gangster Act, stated senior officers.
On January 2, Kana, together with 15 others, have been booked below the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Actions (Prevention) Act, 1986, for allegedly taking tenders from large industrialists at decrease than market charges by displaying energy and affect. An FIR was lodged on the Beta-2 police station.
Of the 16 individuals booked, seven have been arrested up to now, whereas others, together with Kana, are on the run. On Tuesday, police made the eighth arrest in the case. In accordance with the police, the suspect arrested on Tuesday has been recognized as Prahlad alias Amar Singh, a local of Agra, who works as Kana’s driver.
“Prahlad labored as Kana’s driver. He used to assist transport Kana’s illegally obtained scrap from one place to a different and was concerned in the logistics of the gang,” stated SM Khan, deputy commissioner of police, Greater Noida.
The suspect was held from ATS roundabout in Beta-2, Greater Noida, on Tuesday.
“Prahlad additionally has one other case registered towards him in 2018 on the Beta-2 police station below fees of assault,” stated the officer.
The police are but to nab the alleged gang chief Kana and 7 of his accomplices, together with two girls.
