Round 18,500 families will be affected by the second phase development of the Noida Worldwide Airport and over 13,000 of them can have to be relocated, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh mentioned on Wednesday.
The MLA mentioned heeding to the demand of villagers, it has been determined that the families which want to relocate will now have two choices for resettlement – close to Faleda Reduce and at Modelpur, each close to the airport.
“The farmers have the selection to select both resettlement and rehabilitation location as per their comfort,” he mentioned at a press convention together with Jewar Sub Divisional Justice of the Peace (SDM) Abhay Singh.
“Round 120 hectare land is accessible at Faleda Reduce, shut to the upcoming Movie Metropolis, and 60 hectare at Modelpur, which is situated close to Jewar city on the Khurja highway,” the BJP MLA mentioned.
About 1,365 hectare of land for the second phase development of the airport is being acquired from six villages – Dayanatpur, Karauli Bangar, Mudrah, Beerampur, Kuraib and Ranhera.
“Round 18,500 families will be affected by the second phase development of the airport. Of this, 13,320 families from Ranhera, Kuraib and Nagla Hukam Singh (half of Karauli Bangar village) can have to be relocated,” Dhirendra Singh mentioned.
He added that of the families to be rehabilitated, 1,600 are from Nagla Hukam Singh, 6,120 of Ranhera and 5,600 of Kuraib.
SDM Abhay Singh mentioned now that the rehabilitation and resettlement places have been finalised, objections, if any, from stakeholders will be invited. “After that course of, the ultimate proposal will be despatched to the state authorities for its approval,” he mentioned.
Over 1,300 hectare of land was additionally acquired for the primary phase development of the ‘greenfield’ airport. Development work is at the moment underway in full swing for the primary phase and flight operations are scheduled to start from September 2024, in accordance to officers.
