A priest and a gardener working for a city-based businessman had been arrested on Thursday for stealing ₹12 lakh from his home in Sector 30, officers mentioned.

The complainant, Bhawan Swami, had alleged that 5 miscreants had barged into his dwelling within the early hours of February 15 and decamped with a locker containing money value ₹12.33 lakh, deputy commissioner of police (Noida), Harish Chander, mentioned.
Police mentioned that solely the priest and the gardener had been current on the home when the theft passed off as Swami and his household had been away for work since February 7.
“Throughout interrogation, his gardener Sugreev Chandra and priest Manish Awasthi claimed that they had been taken hostage and thrashed by the burglers,” mentioned the DCP.
