As a part of the birth centenary yr celebrations of dramatist, poet, actor Vinod Rastogi, artistes of Vinod Rastogi Smriti Sansthan staged a play ‘Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa’ at Ravindralaya auditorium on Sunday night marking the Mom’s Day.
Rastogi can be identified for his pioneering work for the revival of Nautanki. Primarily based on Mahasweta Devi’s Bangla novel ‘Hajar Churashir Maa’, the play highlighted the sentiments and agony of the mom of a Naxalite who’s finally killed by police.
The play revolved across the Naxal motion activist Vishal and his mom Sujata who faces anger of members of the family for shielding the youthful son and shielding his revolutionary actions. Loss of life of Vishal comes as the final word shock for the mom who tries to discover out the explanations for the motion and circumstances which led to police firing.
The play was tailored and directed by Ajay Mukherjee whereas artistes efficiently conveyed what they wished to say. Garima Kushwaha left her impression in the position of the mom. On the event, Vipin Sharma Memorial Younger Artiste honour was conferred on Garima Kushwaha by former divisional commissioner of Prayagraj Badal Chatterjee, Prof Anita Gopesh of Allahabad College, and former programme officer of All India Radio (AIR) Rupam Narayan Pandey.
