LUCKNOW A person working a store dealing in articles of worship (puja samagri) in Gonda was arrested together with two others from a home close to the brand new Ram temple premises in Ayodhya for his alleged involvement in illegal wildlife trade, stated police right here on Thursday.
Daya Ram Dubey, Brijesh Kesharwani of Ayodhya and Sanjay Tiwari of Gonda had been arrested by the UP STF, forest officers and the Wildlife Crime Management Bureau, officers had been quoted in a press word.
Dubey has a puja material store close to the Gonda court docket premises and he allegedly bought prohibited wildlife merchandise used in tantric rituals. The accused sourced this stuff from Kesharwani and Tiwari.
Merchandise recovered from the accused included 20 tiger tooth, 24 nails & claws of an animal from the large cat household, 110 ‘siyar singhi’ (a small bunch of hair with a horn from the brow of jackal), two ‘hattha jodi’ (a uncommon herb) and 140 ‘Indrajaal’ (a uncommon sea herb). These things and uncommon herbs costing ₹15 lakh had been used in various kinds of pujas and tantrik rituals, stated STF DSP PK Shukla.
The trio was nabbed from Kesharwani’s home in ‘naya mandir’ compound (apart from the brand new upcoming Ram Janmabhoomi temple premises). They’d gathered there to repair a deal for new consignments of prohibited objects, stated the official.
