The Lucknow police on Wednesday arrested two males, mentioned to be members of the notorious Irani gang, who have been concerned in dozens of instances of loot in Lucknow. The 2 focused aged individuals and ladies and robbed them of their valuables after disguising themselves as police officers.
Recognized as Ali Mirza, 42, and Jain Hussain, 43, each hail from Thane district, the police mentioned, including their names surfaced in 31 loot instances registered at 16 police stations in Lucknow; 12 of them have been registered towards Mirza alone.
The accused have been arrested from Banda crossing below Gazipur police station limits.
Explaining their modus operandi, Akash Kulhari, joint commissioner of police (Crime, Regulation & Order), mentioned the duo lived in motels in Gomti Nagar and PGI space once they got here to Lucknow, after which carry out a recce of the world to decide on their goal.
Gold and silver jewelry, ₹50,000 in money and a two-wheeler have been recovered from their possession, the cop added.
“We’ve learnt that these individuals are members of the Irani gang, which is energetic in numerous components of India. They converse Persian as effectively. Additional investigation is underway,” he added.
