The BJP’s Ashok Kumar Tiwari gained the Varanasi mayor’s seat defeating his Samajwadi Social gathering rival Om Prakash Singh by a margin on 1,33,137 votes. Whereas Tiwari bagged 2,91,852 votes, Singh received 1,58,715 votes.
Ashok Kumar Tiwari is reportedly the regional secretary of Kashi area. The ruling BJP swept the mayoral elections in Uttar Pradesh successful the posts in all of the 17 municipal companies on Saturday.

Adityanath stated the win was a results of higher coordination between the federal government and the organisation.
Flanked by Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak at a press convention on the BJP headquarters right here, Adityanath stated the BJP has gained all of the 17 municipal companies for the primary time.
