Yamuna Expressway authority set to prepare urban development plan for Agra

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has determined to prepare a plan for urban development on a minimum of 12,000 hectares of land in Agra district alongside the expressway in keeping with its goal of producing employment and development within the area.

In accordance to officers acquainted with the matter, the authority is exploring economically possible development choices within the space for which it has employed Ernst & Younger International Restricted to conduct a survey and submit an in depth report.

The company is tasked to full the survey and submit the report within the subsequent three months, the officers mentioned.

The authority has already drawn up a plan for urban development in 5 different districts of Gautam Budh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Hathras and Mathura.

“As soon as the company will submit its report, we’ll prepare the development plan. We’d like to finalise after the survey that what must be given precedence between tourism and industrial development in that space, because the area is shut to the Taj Mahal which is a big vacationer spot,” mentioned Arun Vir Singh, Yeida chief government officer, on Monday.

The Uttar Pradesh authorities on April 24, 2001, established Yeida for deliberate development alongside the 165km-long stretch of the Yamuna Expressway falling between Higher Noida and Agra. Its goal was to set up industries to generate employment and develop urban areas within the area.

Round 2 lakh hectares of land from 1,187 villages in six districts — Gautam Budh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Hathras, Mathura and Agra — have been notified underneath Yeida. In accordance to its grasp plan-2041, Yeida goals to assemble 8 lakh homes by 2041-end to cater to the 42 lakh inhabitants in 171 villages in Bulandshahr and Gautam Budh Nagar districts.

After finalisation of the above-mentioned grasp plan, Yeida goals to prepare the urban development plan effectively upfront for land positioned in Agra. It has already deliberate urban development actions for round 24,000 hectares of land positioned in Aligarh, Mathura and Hathras districts, officers mentioned.

“As now we have land positioned alongside the Yamuna Expressway in these six districts, we’d like to plan urban actions now for future developmental functions. Due to this fact, now we have determined to concentrate on land positioned in Agra district,” mentioned Ravinder Singh, further CEO of Yeida.
